New Features and Improvements

With the latest update 4.4 of ReqSuite® RM, we bring numerous new features and improvements that further increase efficiency, usability and flexibility in project and requirements management.

Update 4.4 was released on 01.12.2024.

More efficient input forms thanks to grouping function
  • Thanks to the new grouping function, attributes in input forms can be visually summarized and hidden if necessary. This makes it possible to focus on relevant information and increase usability. These groups can also be automatically hidden — depending on conditions such as user role or item status.
Expanded options for relation attributes
  • Working with relationships between elements has become much more flexible: In addition to classic attributes, several relation attributes can now also be defined, including dynamic enumerations. This allows complex connections to be presented more precisely and clearly.
Improved export
  • LAST and FIRST filters: With the new filter options, it is possible to display only the information of the oldest or newest linked element in the case of multiple links. For example, it is possible to display only the last and therefore most recent test result for a requirement without displaying the entire test history or the results of previous tests.
  • Export of linked "Parents": When exporting from Word, it is possible to use the "WITH RELATED CATEGORY" command to export the items linked to the item being viewed. If the relationship is a self-reference, i.e. an element is connected to another element in the same category, the direction of the relationship plays a role. The above command ignores the direction of the relationship and outputs all linked items. With the "WITH RELATED CHILDREN" command, only the children of the element have been output so far. With the new "WITH RELATED PARENT" command, parent elements can now also be easily exported — a helpful addition to structured documentation.
Optimized AI support for better results
  • Updated GenAI model: The improved language model ensures more accurate results in automatic test case management and other AI features — without sacrificing data security. In principle, the underlying language model GenAI has been updated and is therefore available for all AI functions. As a result, automatic test case derivation also benefits with better results. ReqSuite® uses its own isolated instance of the language model, which does not learn with the data. This prevents sensitive data, for example, from being unintentionally shared. For each request, all project-specific information that is necessary for processing must therefore be provided in the background.
  • Review of refinement consistency: Until now, by specifying a cardinality for a relation, ReqSuite® was only able to ensure that elements are linked to other elements on a syntactic level. With the help of AI, it is now possible to check whether requirements, for example, have been derived sensibly and semantically correctly. This analysis can be carried out individually for each element at the push of a button.
Simplified collaboration and data management
  • Copying views to other projects: In ReqSuite®, development projects are often managed simultaneously in different ReqSuite® projects based on the same template. Since the working methods in such projects are often similar, it can be useful to prepare and present the data in the same way. There is a view function for this purpose, which can be used to save the current view and call it up again later. These views can now be shared not only within the project with other users, but also with other projects that are based on the same template. As a result, views don't have to be created over and over again, which saves time and promotes consistency.
  • Delete rich text fields using a bulk edit: It is now possible to delete the same rich text attribute from multiple elements at the same time. In order not to do this by mistake, you must enter three spaces " ". A note draws attention to this.
  • New ToDo icon when action is required: In the list view of all elements, the "quality problem" icon has been replaced by a "ToDo" icon. The new icon makes the need for action more clearly visible in the list view and helps to quickly identify pending tasks.
Technical improvements in the background
  • Performance optimizations: Some optimizations have been made so that response times do not increase, especially during peak usage times and even with complex calculations, but smooth use can be ensured.
  • Bug fix: A few bugs have been fixed in this release.
