To the moon with ReqSuite® RM
TU Delft's Lunar Zebro Project is currently working on the development of the world's smallest and lightest lunar rover.
The rover is designed so that it can travel on one of the lunar landing devices from a private or national space agency. Once on the Moon, the rover's main goal is to survive the harsh lunar conditions for one lunar day (14 Earth days) and to transmit its location and health status directly to Earth.
Over the course of the lunar day, the rover will test its unique six-legged locomotion. As soon as it is far enough away, it will be able to take a unique picture of the module and the Earth.
While running, the rover will use the semi-autonomous navigation system (SANS) to cleverly avoid craters and boulders so as not to fall victim to them. At the end of the day, it will finally go into sleep mode to survive the -233°C of the moonlit night. When he wakes up, he will turn to Earth one last time...
Since summer 2021, (requirements) engineering in the Lunar Zebro project has been carried out using ReqSuite® RM. More than 70 scientists, engineers and students will use it to contribute and manage their ideas, concepts, and requirements.
